IT Security Specialist

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and security sector, is seeking a dedicated IT Security Specialist to join their dynamic team. As an integral part of the IT department supporting various teams, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization’s information systems, networks, and data from evolving cyber threats. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach, aligning seamlessly with the organization’s commitment to security excellence and innovation.

Job Title: IT Security Specialist 

Location:Pennington, NJ

Pay Range: 90/hr

What's the Job?

• Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and events to detect suspicious activity
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
• Implement and maintain security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, NIST, PCI, GDPR)

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in IT security or related roles
• Strong understanding of network security, operating systems, and security frameworks
• Experience with security tools (SIEM, antivirus, EDR, vulnerability scanners)
• Knowledge of threat detection, incident response, and risk management practices
