Data Engineer

Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team. As a Data Engineer, you will be part of the Data Strategy team supporting the development of a strategic data platform. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC - Onsite / Hybrid
Duration: 12+ months with highly possible extension / conversion

What's the Job?

• Design and develop a comprehensive data platform supporting financial data management and analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish reference data systems for securities and pricing data.
• Implement solutions on Azure Cloud Platform, utilizing services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen 2, and Azure Databricks.
• Develop and optimize APIs using frameworks like FastAPI in Python to facilitate data access and integration.
• Follow internal standards and contribute to the overall data strategy and architecture development.

What's Needed?

• 10+ years of relevant experience to support the design and development of a strategic data platform
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with expertise in Azure cloud services.
• Full stack Python/PySpark development skills.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in RDMS or noSQL databases.
• Experience developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks in Python.
• Familiarity with DevOps lifecycle tools such as git and Jenkins, and CI/CD processes.
