Engineer, Software Quality

Our client, a leading organization in the medical device industry, is seeking an Engineer, Software Quality to join their team. As an Engineer, Software Quality, you will be part of the Heart Failure Division supporting software verification & validation activities and product cybersecurity assessments. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Engineer, Software-Quality

Location: Pleasanton, CA (100% On-Site)

Pay Range: $55/hr. - $57/hr.

Duration: 12+ Month Contract

What's the Job?

  • Support software verification & validation (V&V) activities, including test protocols, plans, and reports, with a focus on non-product software assessment.
  • Assist in product cybersecurity assessments by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust security measures.
  • Review software and system documentation to verify quality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and support Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Perform risk assessments such as FMEA and hazard analysis, driving issue resolution to ensure safety and reliability.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in software quality, validation, or systems engineering within a regulated industry.
  • Experience working in environments governed by standards such as FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and demonstrate strong analytical and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in audit settings is preferred but not mandatory.
