Our client, a leading organization in the cybersecurity industry, is seeking a Cyber Security Research Engineer 3 - Contingent to join their team. As a Cyber Security Research Engineer 3 - Contingent, you will be part of the Cyber Security Research department supporting innovative security initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, resilience, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title:Cyber Security Research Engineer 3 - Contingent
Location: Charlotte, NC (Prioritize) - Open to Chandler, AZ and McLean, VA
Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
What's the Job?
- Review and analyze security logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Lead or participate in phishing disruption efforts, developing new logic and procedures to protect customers and employees.
- Conduct technical investigations of security incidents and perform digital forensics to determine causes and mitigation strategies.
- Provide security consulting on projects to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
- Design, test, and maintain security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, and endpoint security.
What's Needed?
- 4+ years of experience in Cyber Security Research or a related field.
- Knowledge of phishing, cybersecurity principles, and Splunk.
- Experience detecting and mitigating phishing attacks and creating security rules such as regular expressions and YARA rules.
- Ability to manage complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong investigative mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
