IT Security Specialist III

Location: Chandler, AZ (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite)

Role Overview

This role focuses on IT security and infrastructure automation, with a strong emphasis on Kafka platform engineering and deployment across public and private cloud environments. The specialist will design and implement secure, scalable solutions while automating infrastructure using Terraform, Python, and Ansible.

The role requires collaboration across engineering, operations, and application teams to deliver secure messaging platforms and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.

Core Skills & Experience

Infrastructure Automation & DevOps

• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Terraform
  • Python / Ansible automation
• Experience developing and maintaining:
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Test automation frameworks
• Proficiency with:
  • Ansible Playbooks
  • Ansible Tower

Messaging & Middleware

• Strong experience with:
  • Kafka (Confluent Kafka preferred)
• Familiarity with:
  • MQ / IIB
  • TIBCO
• Understanding of messaging protocols and application integration

Cloud & Platforms

• Experience with:
  • Public and private cloud environments
• Ability to manage large-scale enterprise deployments

Operating Systems & Scripting

• Working knowledge of:
  • Linux / UNIX
  • Shell scripting

Security & Access Management

• Basic knowledge of:
  • Ping Access
  • Certificate management
• Experience applying:
  • IT security policies and standards
  • Risk identification and mitigation practices

Monitoring & Observability

• Familiarity with:
  • Dynatrace
  • AppDynamics

Additional Technical Skills

• Exposure to:
  • Java / J2EE
• Experience working in:
  • Agile development environments

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure automation solutions for Kafka environments
• Develop and maintain Terraform, Python, and Ansible-based automation
• Deploy and manage Confluent Kafka platforms in cloud environments
• Collaborate with:
  • Application development teams
  • Engineering and operations teams
• Gather and document business and technical requirements
• Design secure, scalable, and risk-based solutions
• Develop and execute test automation strategies
• Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and performance issues
• Analyze and enforce IT security standards and policies
• Identify security risks and vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
