Our client, a leading aerospace and defense technology organization, is seeking a Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer to join their team. You will be part of the Engineering team supporting the Engine and Power Systems organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and leadership/mentoring abilities, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay Range: $68.75/hour

🔍What’s the Job?

• Collaborate with aerospace engineering teams to develop innovative solutions and systems that meet customer requirements.
• Review and validate engineering drawings and models to ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and company requirements.
• Assess engineering designs for manufacturability, model-based design practices, and cost efficiency.
• Support product development and production activities while providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Serve as a technical validator within the Engine and Power Systems organization, ensuring design accuracy and adherence to industry standards.

✅What’s Needed?

• 10+ years of mechanical design experience with extensive knowledge of engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong experience interpreting, preparing, reviewing, and validating engineering drawings and models.
• Experience with detailed design processes, legacy drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Knowledge of gas turbine engine components and aerospace engineering design practices.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers, lead small teams, make sound technical decisions, and work independently with minimal supervision.
