Our client, in consumer cleaning goods manufacturing is seeking an R&D Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have chemistry, formulation, and team playing skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Research & Development Assistant (Chemistry)

Location: Montvale, NJ

Contract: 11 Months

Pay Range: $27 - $30 hourly

What’s the Job?

• Support development and formulation of new products and technologies aligned with consumer insights and brand initiatives
• Assist R&D projects through the full product development lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams
• Conduct product testing, performance evaluations, and data analysis to support development decisions
• Perform hands-on laboratory work, including basic bench techniques and equipment operation
• Maintain lab operations, including inventory management, documentation, and compliance with SOP/GLP/ISO and safety standards

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (Surface Care or formulation preferred)
• Basic formulation knowledge with understanding of chemical interactions
• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability and effective communication skills, including ability to write clear lab reports and maintain accurate data records
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
