Please no 3rd party subcontracting inquiries
Our banking client is seeking a Python Developer with strong object-oriented programming (OOP) expertise and a background building production-grade applications in a banking or large enterprise environment. This is a true full stack engineering role—the ideal candidate is not a data engineer and not focused solely on scripting or automation. The role centers on designing, developing, and scaling robust Python-based applications that support business-critical financial systems.
Job Title: Python Developer
Location: Charlotte, Jersey City, DFW Metro - hybrid
Duration: Long-term contract
Pay Range: W2 only; Market rates depending on experience and location (target 65-70/hr W2)
(Due to client rules we are unable to work with 3rd party subcontractors; all candidates must be able to work on Experis' W2 directly)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Python applications using object-oriented principles
- Build and contribute across the full stack (backend focus with front-end exposure as needed)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps) to deliver enterprise-grade solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards
- Participate in application architecture and design decisions
- Integrate APIs, third-party services, and internal systems
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, testing, and code quality
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps workflows
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing systems
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Python development in a pure application engineering capacity
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns
- Experience building full stack or backend-heavy applications (not data pipelines or scripting-only roles)
- Prior experience within banking, financial services, or capital markets (Will consider candidates from large enterprise environments with complex systems)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience working with APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Exposure to modern software development practices (testing frameworks, CI/CD, version control)
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to enhance development productivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases
- Front-end experience with technologies such as React, Angular, or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization technologies
- Experience in highly regulated environments (financial services strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture or real-time processing systems
What NOT Looking For - To ensure alignment, this role is NOT suited for candidates who primarily:
- Build data pipelines or ETL workflows (Data Engineers)
- Focus on Python scripting for automation only
- Work exclusively in analytics, reporting, or data science environments
Why Join?
- Work on mission-critical financial applications
- Exposure to modern engineering practices and AI-augmented development
- Collaborative, high-impact environment with strong technical leadership
Ideal Candidate Profile Summary
- A true software engineer at heart—someone who:
- Thinks in objects, systems, and architecture, not scripts
- Has built real applications end-to-end, not just pipelines
- Understands the complexity and rigor of financial systems
- Is already leveraging AI tools to code smarter, faster, and better
