COBOL Developer

Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a COBOL Developer to join their team. As a COBOL Developer, you will be part of the Mainframe Support team supporting critical banking operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: COBOL Developer

Location: Plano, TX (3 days onsite every week)

What's the Job?

• Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, and VSAM.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA and operations to ensure seamless application performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently under pressure.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support banking products such as Letters of Credit, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

What's Needed?

• 5-7 years of Mainframe Development experience.
• Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, and VSAM development.
• Experience with JCL/CA7 is highly beneficial.
• Prior experience with banking products, especially Letters of Credit, is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
