Position Title: Storage Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA 98052
Duration: 8+ months with high possibilities of extension

Description:
Provision, configure, and maintain enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS/object) and related components (controllers, shelves, HBAs, switches).
Manage storage capacity planning and forecasting, track utilization, growth trends, and performance baselines.
Implement and administer storage services such as RAID, tiering, snapshots, replication, deduplication/compression, and storage virtualization (as applicable).
Monitor storage health and performance; tune configurations and remediate bottlenecks affecting host I/O.
Administer storage connectivity and fabric services (FC/iSCSI): zoning, LUN masking/mapping, multipathing validation, and host integration.
Plan and execute storage migrations, technology refreshes, and expansions with minimal downtime; develop and follow cutover/runbook procedures.
Support incident and problem management for storage-related outages and degradations; perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
Apply firmware and software updates/patches; manage lifecycle and vendor support cases (RMA, diagnostics, escalation).
Perform storage hardware break/fix activities (e.g., hard drive replacements) and coordinate RMAs/field service as needed; validate rebuild/health post-replacement.
Define and enforce storage security controls (access controls, encryption at rest/in flight where supported, audit logging) and align to compliance requirements.
Maintain documentation: architecture diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures, and inventory/CMDB updates.
Collaborate with server, virtualization, network, and application teams to define storage requirements and service levels (performance, availability).
Develop and maintain storage automation/scripts and standardized templates to improve provisioning speed and consistency.
