Facilities, Construction & Capital Projects

Industry: Higher Education / Academic Operations

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: $35.00 – $50.00/hr W2

Contract Duration: 3–6 Months (with strong potential for extension)

Employment Type: Direct W2 Only (No C2C, Corp-to-Corp, 3rd Parties, or Agency Referrals)

Position Overview

We are seeking a resourceful, industry-savvy Recruiter to support a high-priority talent acquisition initiative for a premier Higher Education institution’s Capital Projects & Facilities (CP&F) division.

In this role, you will lead full-lifecycle sourcing and candidate engagement for specialized operational roles, including Project Managers, Facilities Managers, Supervisors, and Cogeneration Plant Specialists. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of construction and facilities terminology, licensure, and project lifecycles—from inception and execution through closeout.

We are looking for an innovative recruiter who excels at creative, non-traditional sourcing strategies beyond standard resume databases to identify top-tier passive talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specialized Sourcing & Pipeline Development: Proactively identify, attract, and engage qualified candidates for niche facilities, construction, project management, and power plant/cogeneration operational roles.

  • Creative Talent Acquisition: Utilize creative, resourceful, and multi-channel sourcing methodologies (networking, trade associations, out-of-box search tactics) to build passive candidate pipelines.

  • Candidate Screening & Assessment: Conduct thorough technical screenings to evaluate candidate qualifications, relevant licenses/certifications, and project lifecycle experience (conception to closeout).

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner directly with hiring managers within Capital Projects and Facilities to understand technical requirements, refine candidate profiles, and drive interview workflows.

  • Candidate Management: Maintain clear communication with prospective candidates, ensuring a seamless and professional recruitment experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of specialized recruiting experience focused on Facilities Management, Construction, Engineering, or Capital Projects roles.

  • Domain Expertise: Thorough understanding of industry terminology, project management lifecycles, cogeneration/power plant operations, and technical licenses/certifications.

  • Industry Background: Professional HR/recruiting experience within an academic, higher education, or non-profit institution is strongly preferred.

  • Sourcing Capabilities: Proven track record of creative, self-directed sourcing strategies that go beyond employer-provided subscription databases.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical hiring managers and high-level professionals.

  • Eligibility: Direct W2 authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Important Hiring Notes

  • Direct W2 Applicants Only: We cannot work with Corp-to-Corp (C2C), 1099 contractors, sub-vendors, third-party staffing agencies, or agency referrals for this position.
