Our client, a large payment processor, needed a custom, rules-driven business needs analysis (BNA) application for customer-facing needs discovery and generating custom needs analysis documents. The application had to run as an Android tablet application; work online and offline; and write all the data and recommendations back to Salesforce.
The Experis Mobile Development and Salesforce teams worked in a combined effort to build a hybrid Android app based on the Salesforce Mobile Development SDK. Salesforce was used for the back-end repository of the BNA results and as a rules management system.
The client is able to provide specific, actionable recommendations to its potential customers with a mobile, easy-to-use solution. As questions, potential answers, and specific product recommendations change, the client can change the rules that drive the application without complex programming changes. Piloted with 10 sales users, the app quickly expanded to 100 users, and serves thousands of users in the client’s sales team.
