Agile Transformation and Optimization: Agile Readiness and Implementation for a Healthcare Nonprofit

An independent, nonprofit organization that accredits and certifies more than 20,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States needed to reduce its overall timeline for IT initiatives. It also needed to improve IT delivery quality to its nationwide base of certification resources and effectively meet the stringent requirements of the medical industry.

Challenge

An independent, nonprofit organization that accredits and certifies more than 20,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States needed to reduce its overall timeline for IT initiatives. It also needed to improve IT delivery quality to its nationwide base of certification resources and effectively meet the stringent requirements of the medical industry.

Experis Solution

Experis Agile subject matter experts interviewed and surveyed client PMO, IT, and business executives during an Agile readiness and adoption assessment to determine how Agile could be seamlessly matched to the organization’s culture.

A Scrum-based framework was designed based on Agile practices that could be communicated and adopted across the IT and business enterprises. Experis trained the client’s key IT and business stakeholders over the tailored Agile framework. Experis implemented the framework through pilot projects and provided key resources to minimize project risk and maximize delivery effectiveness.

Results

Experis delivered:

  • An Agile framework that seamlessly integrates with PMO governances. A repeatable training program is also in place so the client’s business stakeholders and the IT organization can fully embrace Agile practices.
  • Experis Agile resources trained and coached the client’s team to mitigate risk and ensure successful project delivery on an ongoing basis.
  • The pilot project won first place in the client’s President’s Award ceremony. The team was recognized for saving 2,000 person hours and $145,000 in actual costs.
