Functional Safety Engineer

Our client, an industry leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Functional Safety Engineer to join their innovative team. As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will be part of the Safety and Compliance Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive communication, and a passion for safety standards, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization by fostering an environment where safety is prioritized and integrated into daily operations.
• Contribute to the development of functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle control systems.
• Conduct safety analysis, including STPA, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure safety requirements are allocated to the design and development process.
• Review safety verification and validation activities, including safety testing and simulation.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CFSE, CFSP, AFSP, or similar credentials are highly preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in robotics, automotive, earth-moving, mining machinery, or agricultural equipment industries.
• Proficient understanding of functional safety standards and safety lifecycle processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills to maintain safety records and compliance reports.
