Hadoop / HPE MapR Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the data engineering and enterprise solutions sector, is seeking a Hadoop / HPE MapR Engineer to join their team. As a Hadoop / HPE MapR Engineer, you will be part of the Data Infrastructure Support team supporting large-scale data processing environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, proactive communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Design, implement, and maintain large-scale distributed data platforms using HPE MapR and Hadoop technologies
• Support and enhance MapR-based ecosystems to ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and stability issues in production environments
• Ensure high availability and operational efficiency of enterprise-scale clusters
• Collaborate strategically with client stakeholders and internal teams to deliver scalable and compliant solutions

What's Needed?

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, big data, data platform, or infrastructure engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Hadoop distributions, specifically HPE MapR
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, data storage, and cluster computing concepts
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language: Python, Java, Scala, or Bash
